Moby Way will be a residential development of homes in a village setting. This type of development creates intimacy while maintaining privacy, minimizes the use of automobiles, and maximizes open space.
Creating this large a residential development is a complex project. It involves receiving approvals and permits from, and working under the supervision of multiple agencies. The RDL Team built cordial relationships with the various agencies; authorizations and permits were received in timely manners and construction began on schedule. For example:
The Community Development Board and various public officials granted approvals and permits to engineer road ways, curbs and sidewalks, sewer and water tie-ins.
Because the property includes wetlands, the RDL team worked under and received approvals from the federal and local Conservation Commissions on wet land allocation, creating retention ponds and culverts, and on engineering rain water management.
Permits and approvals for pump stations for sewage and domestic water supply with injection pumps went through the Department of Public Works without a hitch.
Each home will be decorated and appointed with artifacts, textiles and imagery appropriate to the region. These variations on a basic theme continue to promote the "village setting." The site will provide a welcoming environment established around a "village setting."
